Urges is the Brooklyn-based trio led by drummer Devan Davies-Wood who took the frontman role this time around, joined by Arif Hama on bass and Ali Yildiz on drums.

The band has recently let go of their debut single “Bad Dreams,” a post-punk track with a mesmerizing dark current to it that also sneaks in a rather catchy chorus that is a low-key earworm that works wonders as it goes along. The track explores themes about abandonment and paranoia that often comes along with romantic relationships

With some uplifting and shoegaze-inspired guitar work and an expanding sonic palette that certainly rises to the occasion here, it’s a bold first statement from the band who have most certainly caught our attention here, calling to mind the likes of bands like Interpol, Joy Division, Slowdive and many more.
