Sid Steppes is a musician from Southern California and has been writing and recording music in various bedrooms and makeshift studios for more than a decade. He’s recently released his debut album Trails, an album of tunes described as “neo-psychedelic dream pop.” Take single “OCeans in the Sun,” which rings true with a passionate songwriting style and vocal delivery, channeling some of the great classic rock acts and singers of a different era.
Here’s an official description of the genesis of the song as described by Sid Steppes himself:
This song is about moving on and wanting to find anything to fill the void left by an ex-lover. Understanding that you’ll find that something if you choose a positive path forward and stay hopeful and open to what life’s journey will bring you.
