JR JR (FKA Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.) will release their new double album Invocations / Conversations, due out May 31st. The album will mark the formation of Love Is EZ Records in partnership with Secretly Distribution.
Along with these announcements came two new songs with “NYC” and “Day In, Day Out.” Today we are here to share the former, the playful “NYC.”
The track shows a different side to the band with a worldly vibrant feel to it that sounds like a trek in the city during the summer.
The band’s very own Josh Epstein described the song as “a metaphor for the rapid gentrification and extreme income inequality that we are starting to see in major cities,” and the “somewhat American compulsion to tear down history and rebuild things in their own image every decade or so.”
Take a listen to “NYC” below, along with the more pop-friendly “Day In, Day Out.”
