London alt-rockers Heavy Heart began as a bedroom project in a tiny South London flat. Since then they have slowly but surely branched out thanks to some positive early buzz and radio airplay in the UK.
They’re back with a new song entitled “Bed Bug,” which will be the first of three new songs that was mix and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Gabe Wax. The track has a bit of a 90s rock glow to it with some more dreamy modern influences giving the tracks an expansive and lush dimension that reminds a bit of the work of modern acts like Wolf Alice.
Here’s how the band themselves describe the song:
Bed Bug is a nocturnal love song exploring obsession and lethargy, sex, blood and dirty sheets. It’s about staying in bed all day and staying awake all night, feeling your skin crawl and your nerves itch. It’s also about the beauty and agony of loving someone to the point of self-destruction; picking the wounds open again just to feel the way it felt the first time
