wwoman is the project of Pittsburgh’s Gi Smee. Although a blogger once called his music “depression pop, Gi one-upped him this year by aiming to craft some “suicide soul.” He’s currently being held at a rebabilitation center in Pittsburgh, where he will be releasing music from regularly.
One of these such tracks is the rather lush and dreamy “FOA” and track that is described with the following: “This is what it feels like to float away from your home and family and planet against your will.” There’s definitely some dark themes at play but some that Gi has translated into some pretty upbeat and pleasant work.
