On June 1, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James announced on his social media channels that he’d be playing a free surprise show in the middle of New York City at 330 Hudson Street as a part of the grand opening for Cadillac’s Cadillac House. Along with a ceremony for the opening, James performed a mini set around 6pm that was packed to the brim, along with a wide set of confused passerby’s and cars (one bus driver was dancing along when he was stopped at a red light nearby).
His set included his solo offerings, as well as great covers of Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” and Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.” Find his full setlist posted below, along with a gallery of photos.
