After catching him a few times at CMJ, I finally got to take in a proper show from Martin Courtney, and get to experience his debut album Many Moons in all its glory. It went down at the newly opened National Sawdust, the latest venture from Billy Jones of Baby’s All Right.

He came prepared for this show, bringing out a string section to help bring the songs to life in the same way that you hear on the studio recording. It proved to be a wonderful choice, making everything flow that much better. He even threw in a cover of Echo & the Bunnymen’s classic “Killing Moon,” which was an unexpected highlight of the night.

Find some photos from the performance posted below, along with a video of his “The Killing Moon” cover which I recorded.
