On November 8 after catching a set from Django Django in Brooklyn, I headed over to Mercury Lounge to catch a performance from Los Angeles rock-group Babes. The performance came in support of their new album Untitled (Five Tears), which Barsuk Records released in October. They had fun with the performance, with singer Sarah Rayne Leigh even coming out into the crowd and singing while laying on the Mercury Lounge floor in dramatic fashion. After all the shows and spilt beer over the years, it was a bold move.
The show also featured an opening performance from New York duo Salt Cathedral. Find some photos of both acts posted below.
