In late July English electronic rockers Django Django returned to New York for a performance at Webster Hall. The show came in support of new album Born Under Saturn, which they released in May via Ribbon Music.
Seattle electronic quartet Beat Connection, who recently signed to Anti Records for the released of their new album Product 3. The group’s wash of electronic synth jams got the receptive crowd more than warmed up. They’ll be back in New York on November 21 at Knitting Factory and on November 25 at Mercury Lounge
Getting to see Django Django again live was exciting, especially considering the last time I saw the group play was three years ago at the much smaller Knitting Factory. They didn’t miss a beat, coming out of the gate with enthusiasm and power, totally taking over the entirety of Webster Hall with their sweet electro-influenced rockers.
The groups smart sense of songwriting relies on both grooves and electronic hits, something you can both dance and rock out to. Songs from Born Under Saturn meshed quite well with trademark hits such as “Hail Bop” and “Default.” The group delivered an electric performance, one that has me craving their next stop, which just happens to come next month at the Electronic Music Festival in Brooklyn.
For now, enjoy some photos from this show, of both Django Django and Beat Connection. Both sets of photos are posted below, along with Django Django’s setlist:
