New Jersey indie pop act Bitter Kiss is the project of teenaged singer/songwriter Chloe Baker as well as her father Michael, who handles the instrumentation. Although she may be young in age, there’s a rather stunning maturity to her songwriting, with an impressive sound way above her years.
Earlier this spring she released her self-titled album, which features the stunning single “The Rope.” Theirs a fragility to her voice that works magic alongside her fathers smokey melancholic instrumentation that finds a way to instantly connect with you. It’s clear right away that Baker is a exciting talent, not just cause of her age, but because she’s a natural.
