Wavves and Cloud Nothings have collaborated together on an album called No Life For Me. It will be released sometime this year via Williams’ own label, Ghost Ramp.
It was recorded and produced at Joel Williams house (Nathan’s brother, a.k.a. Sweet Valley) from March 16 to March 24 of last year. The whole album was co written by Wavves’ Nathan Williams and Cloud Nothings’ Dylan Baldi, except for one song (“Such A Drag”) which Williams wrote himself. Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend played guitar on a song called “I Find,” and there are contributions from Wavves’ other members Stephen Pope and Brian Hill.
The idea of Wavves and Cloud Nothings’ worlds collided musically is very exciting and could be one of the best guitar rock records of the year. Many of us will turn to this album when we need to let loose of some steam. There has been no talk of a tour, but imagine how insane these shows would be?
