The Interview Still 2

Well just a few hours ago, word spread that all the top theater chains would not be showing the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy The Interview on Christmas Day. This is due to the terrorist threats from the hackers, who are not happy about the film’s plotline revolving around killing North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

Just a few hours after the aforementioned news, Sony Pictures has announced that they have decided to cancel The Interview’s planned Christmas Day release.

The company released the following statement in regards to the cancellation:

Sony Statement

So now we will wait to see what Sony does with the film. Will they opt for a digital/VOD release, will they shelf the film, or will the film magically appear on the internet? Looks like we will find out soon enough.
