Chinese singer Deserts Zhang Xuan kicked off the first ever New York City-based version of the Modern Sky Festival, which originated in China, making her performance perfectly appropriate.
It was a enjoyable light set that saw her come out with only an acoustic guitar for the first few songs, but she would later be joined by the rest of her band after a few songs. The largely Chinese audience was excited and captivated by her performance, eager to see her conveniently in New York City.
