Phil Elverum, a.k.a. Mount Eerie, has announced a new album titled Sauna that will be released in early 2015 via his own label P.W. Elverum & Sun.
The theme of the album is described as “vikings and zen and real life.” It comes after “over 15 months of solo production in The Unknown,” a studio in Anacortes, Washington housed in a reclaimed church. There are 12 songs, “some very short, some very long.” The press list honestly adds that “Not much else is known at this point.”
He has some upcoming tour dates this month that will see him perform “extremely stripped down” versions of the new songs. Find the tour flyer posted below.
