Over the last three years Lydia Ainsworth was secretly writing and recording songs in Toronto/Brooklyn basements and bedrooms. Thankfully for us, she decided to share her music with the world, and based on what songs we have heard so far, they’re too good to be kept for herself.
On September 30 she will release her debut album Right From Real via Arbutus Records. Based on her stunning track “PSI”, I can tell its going to be a can’t miss record this fall.
She creates a dreary, yet hopeful, atmosphere on the track, which floats away with a perfectly dreamy and very pop-minded chorus that will leave you breathless. The song is too good to be on a debut album. Then again, she’s had a good three years to work on her craft, and what a job that she has done.
