The story of Greensboro, North Carolina band Ashrae Fax is an encouraging one. Although maybe not at first, as the group’s 2003 release Static Crash was unfairly ignored. However, over the years the album gianed a cult-like appreciation, which led to it getting reissued. Soon the band found a new life in the digital age, with Mexican Summer reissuing their entire discography.
All of this has led to the release of the band’s new album, Never Really Be Into It. You can check out the magical 80s-synth haven world that is the album’s first single “CHKN.” It has that glossy sound that would have been a good fit somewhere within the Drive soundtrack. It’s pure ear candy, folks. Don’t let it pass by you, these guys are here to stay.
