Shara Worden, who you may know best as My Brighest Diamond, will return with new album This Is My Hand on September 16 via Asthmatic Kitty Records. She also has announced a separate five-song EP entitled, None More Than You, which will be released on July 15.
Earlier in the month she gave us the first taste of the album, with the stunning track “Pressure.” It starts off with an impressive drumline and soon transforms itself out piece by piece. Horns, brass, and synths all decorate the colorful atmosphere that rides on Worden’s more than impressive vocals. Soon it takes a bit of a funky turn, never stopping to surprise. If you merged early St. Vincent with Sufjan Stevens (her Asthmatic Kitty buddy), this is what might emerge.
