It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since I first got around to posting Seattle folk-rock group The Head and The Heart. It’s even more surprising that it took me until Governors Ball to take in a set from the group, who are now many levels above where they were when they graced these pages.
Now they’re big enough to command a large crowd at the main stage of festivals such as Governors Ball. No surprise as their friendly fare of folk-rock is big enough to spread its wings throughout large crowds, while still finding ways to seem gracefully intimate. This isn’t an easy task. As a whole they seem like a very friendly and likeable band. It was also pleasing to see that they weren’t glued to their positions on stage, freely moving around on stage, able to get the crowd worked up a bit.
It was cool to see the band at the point that they’re at now; their success is certainly well deserved. Hopefully I can find a way to see them at a more intimate show someday, something I should have done long, long ago.
