Electronic outfit Aubergine Machine is the duo of Ian Carey and Shanti Ellis. Their goal is to create a fresh ultramodern song based on 90s trip hop/neo soul influences.
Next June will see the release of their new single “Hostage”, a smooth electronic jam that works in elements of pop successfully. Sweltering synths guide Ellis’ pop-ready vocals to solid effect. Not a bad song for a cool summer day.
