Sharon Van Etten has a new album on the way later this year. It’s called Are We There? and will be released in May.
As Stereogum points out, a NME article has the inside scoop about the new album from Etten.
The album is self-produced, as she started to hear that her popularity was due to her collaborations with members of The National and Beirut. NME says that she wanted to prove herself as a songwriter and promised some weird arrangements, and that her writing got better. Instruments used by John Lennon and Patti Smith were used during the album’s recording.
We will update you guys once we get more details. It’s safe to say it’s going to be exciting to see what she does on the new record.
