J Fernandez and his band from Chicago kicked off my Thursday afternoon at IGIF’s always reliable CMJ showcase Floating Fest at Pianos, with a hazy dreamy set that was perfect to welcome me back into CMJ after a quite a long night.
It was a laid back set with a chill vibe that was ethereal and smooth. I hadn’t listened to J prior to this set, but I was pretty blown away with the vibe that he was creating live, and am going to try and track down all of his recordings that I can from here on out.
