Benedict Cumberbatch has quickly become one of the hottest actors in Hollywood. If there’s ever any casting news, his name is more likely than not to be in the conversation. We saw that mega Star Wars rumor, which seems to be wishful thinking.
We do know that he has been cast as the lead in the upcoming film, The Lost City Of Z. It’s based on a book written by David Grann about the mystery of explorer Percy Fawcett and will be directed by James Gray, who also handled the adapted screenplay.
The film has been in production since 2008, when Brad Pitt was set to play Fawcett, the role that Cumberbatch will take over.
No news other than that yet but at this point, I’m sold on any movie that Cumberbtch attaches his talents to.
