Alan Taylor, director of the upcoming Marvel entry, Thor: The Dark World, as well as many Game Of Thrones episodes last year, has been chosen as the director of the fifth Terminator film. It’s set for a June 26, 2015 release date.
According to Variety, other directors that producers had in mind were Ang Lee, Rian Johnson, and Denis Villeneuve. Writers Laeta Kalorgridis and Patrick Lussie penned the script, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is rumored to possibly show up.
No plot details about the film have been shared, other than it will be the first film in a standalone trilogy. We’re hopeful that this film gets the series back on track, after the rather underwhelming disappointment that was Terminator Salvation.
