Expect big things from Titus Andronicus’ next album. In an interview with Missoulian (via Pitchfork), frontman Patrick Stickles indicated that their next album will be rather ambitious. He says it will be a, “fictional, multi-act rock opera including 30-odd songs and at least one film.”
The plot is inspired in part by Nietzsche’s “The Birth of Tragedy,” and “Touched with Fire,” psychologist Kay Redfield Jamison’s book on how manic depression relates to the artistic temperament. There’s a guy who is going through depression, until he meets a doppelganger who reveals that he is a part of an acient race of humans
It all sounds very wildy entertaining and interesting. For the rest of the details, you should check out the piece over at the Missoulian.
By now, we all know to trust whatever Stickles and the rest of Titus Andronicus do. We just have to be patient.
