Last week was an interesting week for Marvel casting news. Bradley Cooper was chosen to voice Rockett Raccoon in Guardians Of The Galaxy. You would think that would be enough, but not for Marvel. Last week they also announced that James Spader has been chosen to play the titular role of Ultron in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: The Age of Ultron.
It’s definitely not who I would have guessed that they would cast for the role, but Spader definitely has the ability to play a bad guy if needed. Hell, he was a villain to The Office characters in the show’s 8th season, and was almost universally hated by all of the show’s fans with his performance (myself included).
Since Ultran a mechanical character, we’re not sure if Spader will be wearing a suit or doing voice work. We’ll see. Either way this just made the film that much more interesting.
Avengers: The Age of Ultron comes out May 1, 2015.
