Beyoncé closed out day 1 of her husband Jay Z’s Made In America festival (he was 20 feet away from me in the VIP walking towards the stage) and she closed it out in epic fashion. It’s not like I’m always sitting down listening to Beyoncé or anything, but I was excited see her live because she is a talented performer, and this was a good chance to see her that didn’t cost me upwards of hundreds of dollars (just being real).
She delivered an epic 16-song set full of all of her hits that you knew the words to whether you liked it or not. She had epic stage set up that included set pieces for each songs, costume changes, dancers, and an all female backing band and vocalist. Beyoncé delivered on all levels. Even if you’re not normally into big pop shows, you would be able to appreciate what Mrs. Carter does on stage.
Unfortunately there was no Jay-Z guest appearance during “Crazy In Love” even though the opportunity definitely called for it, but it makes sense. I’m sure he didn’t want to upstage his own wife’s performance. She had her own thing going and did it in style.
