The National’s Matt Berninger has covered Isham Jones and the Ray Miller Orchestra wondrous 1924 song, “I’ll See You In My Dreams.” He’s backed up by Vince Giordano And The Nighthawks. It’s his contribution to the Boardwalk Empire Volume 2 soundtrack, which features covers of songs from the Prohibition Era during the 1920s.
His husky deep vocals fit right in to this world. It’s a lovely little cover. It’s not the first time he’s recorded a song for an HBO show either.
