The Coen Brothers new film Inside Llewyn Davis is one of my most anticipated films of the rest of the year (watch the trailer here), large in part due to its story about music. On September 29 in New York City’s Town Hall, there will be a special live concert event for the film. The event is produced by The Coen brothers themselves, and put together by T Bone Burnett, who produced the films soundtrack.
The concert will feature live performances of tracks from the movie performed by its stars, as well as songs from the 1960’s that helped inspire it. A portion of the proceeds will go to the National Recording Preservation, so its all for a great cause.
The films very own Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, and Carey Mulligan will take part. Unfortunately, no Justin Timberlake. But we will see appearances from musicians such as Jack White, Conor Oberst, Joan Baez, Patti Smith, Colin Meloy (The Decemberists), Marcus Mumford, The Avett Brothers, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Lake Street Dive, Milk Carton Kids, Punch Brothers, Secret Sisters, Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, and Willie Watson.
Tickets go on sale here tomorrow at 12 p.m.
