Diane Coffee is the new solo project of Foxygen drummer Shaun Fleming. He’s releasing his debut album My Friend Fish on October 29 via Western Vinyl. He recorded the album after moving to New York from California and catching a hard-hitting flu virus. He spent two weeks along in his room recording what would become his debut album.
You can get a taste of his solo work via the album’s lead off track “Hymn” which starts off in a wondrous fashion kicking into all kinds of nostalgia that sounds very 70s to me. Around the end of the song it kicks into a transition that wouldn’t feel lost on a Foxygen track.
Enjoy “Hymn” below.
