Little Green Cars were a name I saw around town during CMJ but sadly missed. I don’t like making the same mistake twice, and made sure that I caught their set at Lollapalooza. I’m glad I did, because these guys are one hell of a live act. Their songs discuss love and the heartbreak that is destined to occur more often than not. They do this in many different ways, providing their fair share of slow ballads along with mid-tempo rockers that are destined to reach a much bigger scale. There’s a natural talent to be found here, especially with singer Faaye O’Rourke, who toughed things out even though she lost her voice the night before. She sounded great, and put on a mighty performance. I tip my hat to her, I can’t imagine that’s an easy thing to do.
Little Green Cars impressed me with their set, and I will make sure I catch them again in New York. Speaking of, the night I returned home from Chicago, I went to one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, Joe’s Shanghai. As I leave, who do I notice? Faye and Dylan from the band, who are also eating there, at the same time. What is the chance of that? Spoke to them briefly and am pleased to tell you they are two incredibly nice people. That photo you see above is the photo to prove it. Made me an even bigger fan of the band.
What was the chance of running into them in a restaurant in New York days after seeing them at Lolla. Life can be weird sometimes.
