The beauty of music festivals is catching bands you wouldn’t normally see. You won’t be surprised to learn that I’m not a fan of metal. It’s just not my thing. However, the costume and anonymity of Swedish band Ghost B.C. (known as Ghost everywhere but the U.S.) intrigued me. No one knows their identity. Their lead singer is known as Papa Emeritus II, while the rest of the band are known as The Nameless Ghouls. How can you not be a little bit intrigued by all this?
Their live show was every bit as theatrical as it sounds. It’s a fun watch, and the band are quite good live. They play hard riffs that are metal-based, but have melodies that are more pop-minded than say thrasher based. So even us non-metal heads can enjoy their set, if not for just the spectacular theatrics of one of the most interesting bands currently around.
Catch some photos of their set below.
