Director Guillermo del Toro’s new film Pacific Rim has been getting a lot of buzz around the internet. The concept is certainly a cool one, but I don’t know if I’m quite as excited about it as everyone else. I’m sure it will be a fun action ride but I’m just not sure if it’s going to be as great as the hype is leading everyone to believe it will be.
Pacific Rim is a sci-fi monster film that takes place in the near future after aliens have suddenly emerged underneath the ocean. Giant robots have been created to combat these aliens, with soldiers piloting them. The film stars Idris Elba, Charlie Hunman, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman
It’s just one of those films that I feel could be really great or really bad. We shall see when Pacific Rim comes out on July 12. The latest trailer is posted below.
