Last week word came out that The Strokes had a new album and single on the way. Even with that said, it was still a surprise to see a new song available from them today for free download.
The song is titled “One Way Trigger” and it’s different than anything that we’ve heard from The Strokes yet. Immediately you’ll notice an emphasis on electronics as well as a falsetto delivered from Julian. Soon after it kicks into a groove that is more traditionally The Strokes.
For a while the synth actually reminds me a bit of A-Ha. Never would have expecting to have A-Ha in the same sentence as The Strokes.
Well, it looks like The Strokes are back. Now the next question is, what will fans think of “One Way Trigger”?
