Tom Odell is a British 21-year-old who is incredibly talented behind the piano and behind the mic. One listen to his song “Can’t Pretend” and I was swept away.
The song has dynamic range and power, gaining more traction with every passing section. The song only gets more and more powerful, building until the songs completion, and eventual required replay.
Some of the more reserved indie folk may just see Tom Odell as another singer/songwriter typer behind a piano, but I see him as an incredible talent deserving of a chance. Seems I’m not alone – as Lily Rose Cooper (Lily Allen) has signed him to her label, In the Name Of.
