For me this was the surprise set of the weekend. I went in to Thee Oh Sees only knowing a handful of tracks, but left the stage completely in awe about how hard these guys rocked it. They came out guns blazing, hitting harder than a train heading full stream into a brick wall. Lead man John Dwyer left it all there for us, sticking his tongue out, letting out some drool and spit, all in the name of rock. Out of all of the loud fast paced rock bands that played in the same 2-hour span, I declare Thee Oh Sees the triumphant winners.
Midway through their viciously loud set, the band called out to Ty Segall who were soon to go on, asking if their sound was loud enough for them. Oh yes, it certainly was.
The band is releasing new album Putrifiers II on September 11 via The Red Records. Check out a nice healthy gallery of shots from their set below.
