Purity Ring took the stage at the same time as Feist (who I already saw at Bonnaroo). The band is young, and definitely has some fine tuning to do, but they held their own. Their cool hypnotic style of electronic witchery was perfect for the oncoming nightfall.
A hip light display hovered of the duo, while Megan James mostly kept in the shadows, letting her voice act as their guiding light. Their debut album Shrines drops on 4AD next week (July 24) and is a strong start to their career. While their live show isn’t perfect, it’s one to stay patient with. They are young, and destined to improve with every move.
