When you start a show with six backup singers starting a “Chromeoo–aaa-oh” chant, it’s bound to tread over great waters. Chromeo did so, and soon ripped into a devastatingly fun set full of modern disco-dance treats that are funky, sexy, and way too fun to be contained on the grounds of Randalls Island. Dave-1 was all smiles, radiating with a sense of joy that made the set a great watch. He was constantly moving, playing along with the crowd who would not be contained for one second.

Chromeo brought the goods, as it was their only NYC show of the year as they continue work on a new album that should be out sometime soon. I last saw the band at All Points West, and don’t remember them being as fun as they were on Saturday. Next time they are in town, I’ll be there.
