It truly pains me to type this, but if you haven’t heard already, Adam “MCA” Yauch, of the Beastie Boys has passed away. Yauch had been battling cancer for three years. He was 47 years old.
Anyone who knows music knows how influential the Beastie Boys were for music. He influenced so many artists and listeners for nearly 30 years. I don’t think I can quite put into words the effect that he had on all of us. It saddens me that he had to go so young.
There is a full obituary at the Beastie Boys website. I hope all of you are blasting your Beastie Boys LP’s this weekend, and have a few brass monkeys in MCA’s honor.
