Remember the name Luke Rathborne. Big things are headed his way. He’s a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Maine (he now lives in NYC) who has me all kinds of impressed. On March 8th, Luke will be releasing his debut split EP album, I Can Be One EP / Dog Years EP.

I’ve heard the EP, and it left quite the first impression. Luke can do it all. He can write pop songs wrapped with melancholy. Then he will break your heart with tearful ballads. Each EP demonstrates a different side of Luke, proving him to be a seasoned musician far beyond his years. I’m wholeheartedly impressed with each and every one of the eight songs included on this release. The one two combo of “Tomorrow” & “Dog Years” on the Dog Years EP is out of this world.

Luke’s offering up “Dog Years” and “I Can Be One” as free mp3 downloads. They give you a good taste of what Luke brings to the table.

The Strokes have Luke opening up for them at their SXSW performance. Now you know I’m not the only one impressed by his talents.
