Smith Westerns are returning with a new album in 2011 called Dye It Blonde. It’s going to be released on January 18th, 2011 via Fat Possum.

After seeing them live, I really took to a liking for this band. Their self titled debut is a great album considering it was recording on garage band. With that said, I’m really excited to see what this new one sounds like with some proper studio recording. If they can bring their great live sound and translate that into a recorded album, it’s going to be something else.

The record was produced by Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TVOTR, Beach House) in New York City. I posted it’s tracklisting below:

Weekend
Still New
Imagine Pt. 3
All Die Young
Fallen In Love
End of the Night
Only One
Smile
Dance Away
Dye the World

If you still haven’t seen Ryan McGinley’s “Friends Forever” short, check it out below. It features a clip of “All Die Young”, an excellent song that will be on Dye It Blonde.
