Finally. The great boys known as Tapes ‘n Tapes are coming back to the music world! They took some time after releasing Walk It Off in 2008. Walk It Off seemed to be a dissapointment to most people, but I actually always really liked it, and still do. I think people were way too harsh on them. I firmly believe that their next album will be even stronger. We will be able to find out soon, as the band announced that they have a bunch of new music ready to share.
The band sent out emails to their fans telling them that they compiled an album’s worth of new material during the winter. They are ready to share the new music via a live show on Sunday March 21st at 7th Street Entry in good old Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tickets are on 10 bucks, what a deal! I’m clearly not going to be able to attend this, but if any of you Minnesota readers are thinking of attending, I would be so grateful if you could record some of the new songs and share it with us. Maybe I could compensate you in some way for extra motivation?
Can’t wait to hear this new material. I’m a believer in Tapes ‘N Tapes. Their hype was well deserved in my eyes.
Here is the post that they sent to fans on their mailing list and posted on their website:
Hey you! Long time no see. We hope you’re having a good winter. Our winter has been focused on less talk and more rock. We’ve got a bunch of new rock, a full album’s worth actually. We are going in to the studio to record our third LP. We’re really excited for all of you to hear what we’ve been working on for all this time.
On the eve of entering the studio, Sunday, March 21, we’re going to be playing a rock show at the 7th St. Entry with our good friends Vampire Hands and Minneapolis Dub Ensemble. We’re gonna need to get the kinks out and have some fun playing new songs and old. It’s going to be a rocking good time.
