The Growlers are back on the road touring hard and brought the tour to New York for a performance at Summerstage in Central Park on the night on September 14th, almost a year to the day of the last time that we saw them perform.
The band has released some new singles this year ahead of the release of Natural Affair, an album that is supposed to come out sometime this fall. They included a few of these new songs in the setlist, along with old-standing favorites such as “Naked Kids,” Humdrum Blues,” and “Chinese Fountain.”
Rain threatened throughout the evening but luckily was held to nothing more than some light rain that never effected the show. The band did play for nearly two hours straight, with the venue hurrying the encore-closing performance of “Going Gets Tuff” as the time had hit 10 p.m. They always give fans a healthy set and tonight was no different.
