Vesper Wood, the Florida-based indie-folk project of singer-songwriter Christina Wood, will release her debut album Instar on March 1st. Formerly of UK electro-pop duo Kaleida, Instar is Wood’s first statement as a solo artist and based on her lovely new single “Descend,” the album is one that is very much worth a listen.
The combination of her earthy vocals with some devastating string arrangements is a potent combination used to perfect. The song was”fueled and inspired by her own profound experiences with her reproductive health, one that Wood herself had this to say: “It’s a very emotional track, very watery, about feeling drowned in the conviction of love”.
Both dramatic and touching, “Descend” is proof that Wood is an artist to watch in 2019.
