Massage is an L.A.-based indie rock outfit formed by Alex Naidus, a founding member of The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. They’re self-described as “a band that meets up on Monday nights to bash out songs that crudely approximate their heroes, past and present — the Feelies, the Go-Betweens, Twerps, Sarah Records, Flying Nun.”
This year saw them release their debut album Oh Boy via Tear Jerk Records and based on single “Crying Out Loud,” they have captured that feeling perfectly on this song.
It’s a throwback to indie music of the past, that is simply well crafted and full of golden melodies and jangly guitar work that suits them very well.
