The Family Knife hails from Dublin, Ireland, who recently released their self-titled debut album full of “sometimes hopeful tunes” that are “tinged with sadness.” The album is “a collection of 12 organic and electronic driven tracks, influenced by everyone from Deerhunter and Yo La Tengo, to Stereolab and The Beta Band.”
Standout cut “Leave Me Sleeping” proves all of the above to be true, hitting with a warm folk style reminiscent of Rogue Wave, that almost recalls the sort of tune that would’ve been perfectly suited for placement on an episode of The O.C. (this is a compliment).
