St. Serf is a South London band who formed in 2015 who have caught my attention with new single “Arcade.”
The track combines elements of garage rock, dreamy shoegaze all built around some smart hooks. There’s a bit of an early hazy Deerhunter quality to their sound, pushed through with some catchy melodies sneakily work their magic on you.
Here’s what the boys had to say about the song themselves:
We wrote this song about a year ago and recorded with the help of Felix Rashman and Phil Brillo. The track is based around a motorik drum beat inspired by Neu, using delays and reverbs to create a sludge of loveliness (we think).
Not much else is known about these guys other than what you can find on their facebook page, but all we know is that this song is really damn good and makes us eager to see what else that they have up their sleeves. Keep an eye out.
