It’s still very early in 2018 but it’s safe to say that one of the best releases we heard in January was Quit The Curse, the debut album from Detroit singer-songwriter (released via Polyvinyl Records), Anna Burch.
She celebrated the album’s February 2nd release date with a free performance at Rough Trade NYC on January 29. Burch played eight of the nine songs from the record, effortlessly charming the crowd the entire way through. Her songs have this natural grace to them, given extra power live with some extra punchy 90s rock influence felt even more live than on the record.
The album is available to stream and purchase right now on her Bandcamp. She will also be back in New York on March 7, opening for Ezra Furman at Bowery Ballroom.
