Bedouine is the project of Syrian-born (and now L.A. based) singer Azniv Korkejia who caught my attention earlier this year with her absolutely gorgeous debut self-titled album that was released via Spacebomb. The record is a dreamy folk delight that captures your imagination and clears the mind. It hasn’t quite gotten the attention from the rest of the “indie scene” that it no doubt deserves, but I’m sure that is soon to change in due time.
She’s currently on her first headlining tour and will make her New York debut this Thursday at Joe’s Pub. This will be your first chance to catch her performing live and it’s not one to be missed. Only a few tickets still remain so don’t wait too long if you want to attend.
