On November 25 STRFKR kicked off the first of a two-night run in New York with a performance at Music Hall of Williamsburg (they headed to Manhattan’s Webster Hall the next night). The tour came in support of their 2016 album Being No One, Going Nowhere which was released via Polyvinyl Records. They were supported by local Brooklyn group Psychic Twin, who also released their new album Strange Diary via Polyvinyl.
This was my first time seeing STRFKR perform live. I suspected it would be a fun show, but I’ll be honest when I say I was in no way prepared for the craziness that their performance brought. Their show consisted of costumed members in astronaut gear (including members of Psychic Twin), confetti, and even blow up flamingo that they eventually crowdsurfed with over the audience. It was a wild good time, that at 26-songs was perfectly extend well into the wee hours of the night.
I’ll tell you this much, this certainly won’t be the last time I see STRFKR live.
