On September 13 British shoegaze/Britpop cult legends Lush returned to New York for their first show here in 20 years. To say it was a special show was an understatement, considering it featured the full Lush lineup consisting of Miki Berenyi, Emma Anderson, Justin Welch and Phil King.
Lush dove into all of their records, delighting us with favorites like “De-Luxe,” “Ladykillers,” “Hypocrite” and “For Love.” They also dove into their new EP Blindspot, including the live debut of “Lost Boy.” The sold out Williamsburg crowd gave them a great ovation throughout the show, and you could tell that Berenyi and the rest of the group were humbled by this, after so many years away from the game.
It was special to actually get to see Lush perform live, let alone at the always cozy Music Hall of Williamsburg, a much more intimate show than their show at Terminal 5 the following evening.
